Atonement ~ Book 3 in Chronicles of the Fallen

Samuel finally gets his story. I want him to find redemption, his friend from heaven, Ana, is charged to end Samuel. Ana believes that she will be able to save Samuel because she knew him when he was still an Angel. I think the love she has for Samuel clouds her judgment a bit. In the end she ticks me off, I thought she was stronger than she's become. Maybe she will prove my thoughts of her wrong in Culmination. I do in a sense see that Samuel starts to change which I love! But I'm worried it's just for show to get Ana on his side. I would say he half redeems himself. I like that this book was about Samuel though, it's nice for him to be able to have his side of things told as well. Loved the book can't wait to read book for Culmination. Julie is a great author and so far this is a great series. Please you must read this series!

Synopsis
He's caused havoc. He's brought Hell to earth. He's taken more souls than he cares to remember. When Samuel comes face to face with a woman he has centuries of history with, she makes him work harder than he's ever worked on claiming a soul. Anauel has been charged to end Samuel, once and for all. She hates who he's become, she cannot stand his existence and she plans to do whatever it takes to bring him down. What she doesn't count on is his seduction making its way into her heart. Anauel plans to destroy him for everything he has become. But a big ‘what if’ lingers over her: Can she send him down the path of atonement, or will Samuel lure her over in hopes of claiming her soul? Fighting lust and temptation, Anauel will need to fight harder than she's ever fought before; for her soul to live. In claiming the soul of an angel, Samuel will find himself also fighting against something he's completely unfamiliar with; the ability to feel something greater than lust and seduction... love.

Give Me A Reason

Loved this book, Cami's storyline you really feel for her. She had it all but then messed it up with the drinking and the drugs. This caused her to lose the love of her life and to miscarry their child. So when she finally cleans up her act and starts over she's doing really well. She meets Kristle who I loved. It's hard to pick a favorite character but she might be up there. Her friend from school Hazen, I was kind of hoping the two of them would get together but the demon in him was too strong. So when Kristle meets Jensen who was in a relationship at the time, I decided I wanted them two to be together. The friendship that Cami and Kristle develop is fast but very genuine. I feel in love with this book, it was my first one I read from JoLynne but I knew that I needed to read more. What a great author she is!

Synopsis:
Aging rock star Cami Carmichael can accept the fact that she's remembered as little more than a one-hit wonder, but she will not accept the fact that her former drug addiction defines her, or that her life is over. Back in her small hometown, nestled in the mountains of Upstate New York, Cami is rebuilding her life and making peace with the past.

Kristle Dunne, the only child of a single parent, is known as Krazy Kristle, for her intense psychic ability. The two women meet, and a fast friendship is formed. A friendship that has everything to do with accepting and loving oneself, and others.

But when Hazen McCall, Kristle's childhood friend, becomes demonically oppressed and violent, Cami and Kristle find themselves pulled into an unthinkable scenario, where ultimately, the powers of good and evil, face off.

Paranormal Investigator Jensen White steps in to assist the situation. What happens next is something no one could have seen coming... except Kristle, who saw it all before it ever happened, in a dream.

Will Jensen's team be able to free Hazen of the demon? Will the trauma of what they see and sustain, scar Cami and Kristle, forever? Could there be a purpose, a higher reason, in all this madness? At one point in both of their lives, Cami and Kristle wished for a reason to live... They're about to get one.

Deadly Alchemy by Julie Morgan - Blog Tour

TitleDeadly Alchemy
AuthorJulie Morgan
GenreParanormal/Historical Romance
Publication DateJanuary 20, 2015

Deadly Alchemy is a real page turner, I kept wanting to know what was going to happen next.  I feel really bad for Amelia with everything she has gone through but she is definitely one tough lady.  At first I thought I might like Michel, that was before I discovered he was pure evil.  He literally has no ounce of Humanity left in him.  The things he and his 'lover' Rene would do to other Humans was cruel, I would be terrified myself if I were in Amelia's shoes.  I will say though, Michel has a way of getting in your mind and the things that he puts in your mind well that is far from evil. I can see why Amelia falls for him in the beginning.  He has a hidden agenda though regarding Amelia which she didn't know when she first fell for him, there is more to him than what meets the eye.  This is discovered as you get more into the story.  John on the other hand seems more like a gentleman, well not at first.  At first he seems like a psycho person that could be just as evil as Michel, but that is before you find out why he kidnaps Amelia.  In the end, he is what you would call a 'knight in shining armor.'  John is there for Amelia when she needs him most, it may have taken some time for him to be there, but he eventually comes to her rescue.  You will fall in love with Amelia and John and the love that they share for each other.

I really liked the time period and the description of the time period that Julie wrote about.  It shows she did her research before writing this book.  I felt like I was in the era with the characters.

In the end, I have chosen who I want to live, and who I want to die or rather suffer...

I hope you enjoy this story and the characters as much as I did!

Synopsis:
How do you choose who lives and who dies? Alchemist Amelia Rimos has just discovered the cure for the Undead. Being naïve and vulnerable, she does not realize the Undead have their targets set on her. Happening upon a tall, dark, exotic man named Michel Gauthier, he saves her from becoming a victim, thrusting her into a game of cat and mouse. Amelia realizes being an Alchemist is not in her best interest when she befriends him. Is Michel as sincere as he seems or does he have an ulterior motive? When her life cannot be more complicated, John Hawthorne interjects himself into Amelia's life and shifts it completely upside down. He informs Amelia she has the key to their survival. Soon, she will realize the Undead are not the only monsters in the world… Amelia will find herself in a stalemate: She will be forced to choose between destroying her evidence and saving the man she’s grown to love or destroying over half the population of the world, including the love of her life with it.

Excerpt:
"Miss Amelia," he bows, leaning forward, taking my hand. Like the gentleman he always is, he lifts it to his lips and kisses it softly, never breaking eye contact. I relish in the coolness of his lips against the warmth of my skin.
I press my lips into a small smile. "Good evening, Michel." I remain calm and hide the excitement I feel at the sight of him. I have not noticed the stares we receive from onlookers.
"We meet again. You are a vision of beauty, my lady."
I try not to blush but fail miserably. I lower my eyes in a sheepish, flattered manner. He never lets go of my hand and holds it in his grasp. "Indeed, we do. I was just on my way toward the romance literature. Care to join me?" My smile turns into a small, nervous grin as I raise my eyes again to meet his.
Ignoring the nervous butterflies fluttering around in my stomach, his grin widens. "Perhaps I can offer some assistance." He pulls my hand into the crook of his arm, leading the way.
I sneak a glance up at his handsome features. "Hmm, perhaps." I lower my gaze for a moment, books being the furthest thing from my mind.
His eyes search for the perfect novel, plucking a choice from the books before him. I remove my hand from the crook of his arm, taking the book he hands me. "Marquis De Sade?" My slightly widened eyes rise to his. "120 Days of Sodom?" The title itself gives me a clue just how intense and graphic the contents will be. Once again, I am blushing. "I feel as if I'm going to turn to salt, just by that title alone," I whisper with a nervous laugh, referring to the old Bible tale I have heard preachers tell on Sundays.
He leans in with a whisper, "Mmm, I assure you, Miss Amelia, you will enjoy it."
