Deadly Alchemy by Julie Morgan - Blog Tour

TitleDeadly Alchemy
AuthorJulie Morgan
GenreParanormal/Historical Romance
Publication DateJanuary 20, 2015

Deadly Alchemy is a real page turner, I kept wanting to know what was going to happen next.  I feel really bad for Amelia with everything she has gone through but she is definitely one tough lady.  At first I thought I might like Michel, that was before I discovered he was pure evil.  He literally has no ounce of Humanity left in him.  The things he and his 'lover' Rene would do to other Humans was cruel, I would be terrified myself if I were in Amelia's shoes.  I will say though, Michel has a way of getting in your mind and the things that he puts in your mind well that is far from evil. I can see why Amelia falls for him in the beginning.  He has a hidden agenda though regarding Amelia which she didn't know when she first fell for him, there is more to him than what meets the eye.  This is discovered as you get more into the story.  John on the other hand seems more like a gentleman, well not at first.  At first he seems like a psycho person that could be just as evil as Michel, but that is before you find out why he kidnaps Amelia.  In the end, he is what you would call a 'knight in shining armor.'  John is there for Amelia when she needs him most, it may have taken some time for him to be there, but he eventually comes to her rescue.  You will fall in love with Amelia and John and the love that they share for each other.

I really liked the time period and the description of the time period that Julie wrote about.  It shows she did her research before writing this book.  I felt like I was in the era with the characters.

In the end, I have chosen who I want to live, and who I want to die or rather suffer...

I hope you enjoy this story and the characters as much as I did!

Synopsis:
How do you choose who lives and who dies? Alchemist Amelia Rimos has just discovered the cure for the Undead. Being naïve and vulnerable, she does not realize the Undead have their targets set on her. Happening upon a tall, dark, exotic man named Michel Gauthier, he saves her from becoming a victim, thrusting her into a game of cat and mouse. Amelia realizes being an Alchemist is not in her best interest when she befriends him. Is Michel as sincere as he seems or does he have an ulterior motive? When her life cannot be more complicated, John Hawthorne interjects himself into Amelia's life and shifts it completely upside down. He informs Amelia she has the key to their survival. Soon, she will realize the Undead are not the only monsters in the world… Amelia will find herself in a stalemate: She will be forced to choose between destroying her evidence and saving the man she’s grown to love or destroying over half the population of the world, including the love of her life with it.

Excerpt:
"Miss Amelia," he bows, leaning forward, taking my hand. Like the gentleman he always is, he lifts it to his lips and kisses it softly, never breaking eye contact. I relish in the coolness of his lips against the warmth of my skin.
I press my lips into a small smile. "Good evening, Michel." I remain calm and hide the excitement I feel at the sight of him. I have not noticed the stares we receive from onlookers.
"We meet again. You are a vision of beauty, my lady."
I try not to blush but fail miserably. I lower my eyes in a sheepish, flattered manner. He never lets go of my hand and holds it in his grasp. "Indeed, we do. I was just on my way toward the romance literature. Care to join me?" My smile turns into a small, nervous grin as I raise my eyes again to meet his.
Ignoring the nervous butterflies fluttering around in my stomach, his grin widens. "Perhaps I can offer some assistance." He pulls my hand into the crook of his arm, leading the way.
I sneak a glance up at his handsome features. "Hmm, perhaps." I lower my gaze for a moment, books being the furthest thing from my mind.
His eyes search for the perfect novel, plucking a choice from the books before him. I remove my hand from the crook of his arm, taking the book he hands me. "Marquis De Sade?" My slightly widened eyes rise to his. "120 Days of Sodom?" The title itself gives me a clue just how intense and graphic the contents will be. Once again, I am blushing. "I feel as if I'm going to turn to salt, just by that title alone," I whisper with a nervous laugh, referring to the old Bible tale I have heard preachers tell on Sundays.
He leans in with a whisper, "Mmm, I assure you, Miss Amelia, you will enjoy it."

Weekly Tarot Reading (Week of 1/25/15)

The Hierophant
The card I drew for this week is The Hierophant, the man on the card means you are wise, patient and merciful; or maybe these qualities are of someone close to you or someone that will soon come into your life. He stands offering to those around him, this reiterates the saying 'What goes around comes around.'  You can be relied on for support and advice, but be sure to keep your traditions close to you. Giving also doesn't mean in the form of money. It can mean giving your time, love, knowledge or whatever you deem as giving. What is true to you? Hope this helps!

Blessings to you all!

Weekly Tarot Reading (Week of 1/18/15)

Follow me on Instagram to get the weekly reading as well!
Eight of Hearts
This weeks Tarot reading is the Eight of Hearts.  While preparing this reading and shuffling the cards, this was the card to fall from the pile thus saying it was wanting to be chosen. This card represents sacrifice the woman on the card shows that all her energy has been drained as she cries eight hearts into freezing water. Maybe you were denied of something or someone you loved. You gave it or them everything and it was all in vain. With this it shows you have given too much of yourself. Take time to focus on you to renew your energies, there is something or someone out there that is more worthy of your sacrifice. Look at this as an opportunity in finding a new direction for yourself.

Blessings to you all!

Redemption ~ Book 2 in Chronicles of the Fallen

Redemption is the second book in the Chronicles of the Fallen and with this book I fell more in love with Alex and Lisa in this book. More Angels and Demons join in on this book. Samuel still ticks me off. I wish I know his background more of how he became so evil.  Part of me hopes he has a good side... He doesn't in this book. Gorgon is the demon turned nice? I like her. Wouldn't want her in my dreams but she is like the Grinch in the sense I feel like she grows a heart. Alex's Angel friends are wonderful I hope to see more of them in book three!  Well off to read Atonement.

Synopsis:
Lisa's choice has been made. She's living her dream and couldn't be happier.  Then as news comes to shed light on her happily ever after, a series of events are set in motion.  Some want to claim what is rightfully theirs, others want to mold it in a positive light.  Alex feels the demon inside of him growing stronger, day by day.  Will he be strong enough to keep it at bay, or will he lose himself to the darkness?  A new demon comes into Alex and Lisa's life who seems to have every intention of destroying them, but do they know what their intentions truly are?  Lisa will discover who is an ally and who is the enemy, but will she discover it in time to save Alex from his own self destruction?  When she finally understands what's happening to her, will she lose herself and everyone she loves or will she seek redemption and accept what she has become?

Fallen ~ Book 1 in Chronicles of the Fallen

So I had finally read Fallen, Book 1 in Chronicles of the Fallen and I must say, this is a great book. If you haven't ready this book yet, please do.  Julie Morgan's book is definitely a page turner. I couldn't wait to read the second book. I loved Lisa. She's a great main character gal. This story is greatly written. I kept wanting to know what happens next. I can't wait to read the next book. In the Chronicles. At first I loved Samuel, was definitely #TeamSamuel then he ends up ticking me off about half way through. I was hoping he would redeem himself but he didn't. However at the moment Samuel disappointed me, I fell in love with Alex. He sacrificed something huge for the one he loves. This is when I became #TeamAlex. Julie is a great writer. I definitely recommend this book and others.

Synopsis:
Lisa Adams wants what every other woman wants: The perfect job. The perfect home. The perfect guy. When she receives the opportunity of a lifetime, Lisa has no idea what she’s actually signed up for. Her boss, who is tall, dark and incredibly sexy, starts making advances towards her and she’s having a hard time telling him no. Lisa begins seeing things that are scaring the Hell out of her. Nightmares are leaving her frightened. Then there’s this new guy that’s come into her life. He brings a new light into the darkness that threatens to claim Lisa. He’s mysterious, heartwarming and kind. Not to mention the most beautiful man she’s ever met. But something with him seems to be off. Faced with love, seduction, sacrifice and deceit, Lisa will find herself being pulled in two directions; one pursues her to claim her soul and the other will sacrifice everything to save her.

Weekly Tarot Reading (Week of 1/11/15)

Follow me on Instagram to get the weekly tarot reading as well!
Queen of Swords
This weeks tarot reading, the card drawn was the Queen of Swords.  This beautiful Queen has a crown adorned with butterflies which shows that there are thoughts and ideas in your head.  However, there is a familiar sense of loss in her eyes maybe you didn't have good personal experiences in the past and this maybe has caused you to be bitter?  This is a New Year, so don't let that past hold you back with your ideas.  You are an independent person and you are likely to produce a worthy solution for any problem presented to you if you set your mind to it.   Use those creative thoughts and ideas to create something successful.   If you don't feel this card resonates much with you, it may be representing someone that soon will appear in your life.

Blessings to you all!

Weekly Tarot Reading (Week of 1/4/15)

I decided that I am going to start doing a general weekly tarot reading.  It will be a one card draw.  I will post it on my Instagram account on Sunday's and then repost here for those that don't have an account.  If you do though, you should follow me!
Three of Wands
This week we have the Three Of Wands that was drawn. It more fell during the shuffling so I knew that this is the one that was needed to be used. Cards don't just fall from a deck unless they want to be chosen. With that, it was important for me to share what the message of this card wanted to share with me so I can tell you. This is the card of Opportunity this card shows three cupids, they each represent one thing. Heart, Mind and Action these three join together sensing a dynamic energy to manifest a wish you may have. With the red flowers and flames, a creative invention is available. They have a cautious attitude so this joyful awareness and creativity is to be used wisely.

Blessing to you all!
